That is a 3.3% range across six days — one of the tightest opening weeks SOL has printed this year — after a July that closed at $74.65. Price drifted from July’s $74.65 close toward $73 on an absence of bids rather than actual selling. The first proper session, Monday August 3, produced the week’s low at $72.14 — the same day the bearish takes stacked up: a weekly double-top projection pointing at $36, a $60 support call, weekly RSI near 38. None of it converted. SOL recovered to $74.03 by August 5. Six sessions, no daily move larger than roughly 2.5%, volume around $3.15B — a continuation of what we tracked in last month’s SOL price breakdown: accumulation-shaped chop, not conviction.

SOL Price, August 1–6, 2026

Date

SOL level

What was happening

Aug 1 (Sat)

~$73

Weekend open, drifting under July’s $74.65 close

Aug 2 (Sun)

~$72.9–$73.5

Thin tape, below both the 20- and 50-day EMAs

Aug 3 (Mon)

$72.14

Week’s low print; bearish $36 and $60 calls published

Aug 4 (Tue)

~$72–$73

Fifth straight zero-net-flow ETF session

Aug 5 (Wed)

$74.03

Volume ~$3.15B, mcap $43.03B, ETFs back at +$1M

Aug 6 (Thu)

$73.90–$74.36

Mcap ~$43.23B; six-day range still under 3.5%

What Actually Moved It

Two things, neither of them a chart pattern. First, the ETF flow reset. After positive inflows on every single July trading day, the entire US spot Solana complex went to exactly $0.0M net for five sessions — July 29 to August 4. That is not selling; it is the institutional bid switching off, and SOL’s $72.14 low lines up with the tail end of that drought. Flows resumed at about $1M on August 5 and price recovered the same session. Second, Morgan Stanley’s MSOL, which listed July 28 undercutting every rival at 0.14% and absorbed roughly $19.5M in week one — so the zero-flow headline was partly rotation between wrappers, not an exit from SOL. Pool depth is public on DEXScreener, spot pricing on CoinGecko.

The Triangle Everyone Is Pointing At

SOL has been compressing since May. The upper trendline runs down from the ~$98 peak, the lower one up from the June low at $60.29, and as of August 6 they converge almost exactly where price sits. An apex forces resolution whether or not the news flow cooperates. Upside: the 0.5 Fibonacci at $79.27 and the 100-day EMA at $79.39 stack into a single $79 zone, and clearing it on volume is the confirmation bulls need. Downside: the 0.236 Fib at $69.25, then $60.29 as the structural floor, with nearer supports at $72.33, $71.18 and $70.30. None of this contradicts the longer drag covered in the case for SOL’s extended slide — a 75% drawdown from the $294 January 2025 high does not repair in one tight week.

What’s Still on August’s Calendar

Three items stay live. Alpenglow: the consensus rewrite cutting finality from roughly 12.8 seconds to about 150 milliseconds sits inside an August–October window, but as of August 6 no governance proposal is submitted and validators are still registering keys through the Validator Admission Ticket system. It could land this month; nothing indicates it will. Second, the ETF trend — whether August 5’s $1M was a restart or a blip, and whether MSOL’s fee undercut pulls assets out of BSOL rather than adding new money. Third, the KSNET agreement signed July 30, linking Solana Pay to a Korean network covering 330,000+ merchants and roughly $4B in monthly volume. Payments adoption is slow-burn and rarely shows up in a monthly candle.

Dolan Duck’s Read on the Rest of August

To be explicit: this is our editorial estimate, not data. Dolan Duck’s base case for the rest of August 2026 is range-bound trade between $69 and $79, with the triangle resolving late in the month. The assumptions are simple — ETF flows stay small but non-negative, Alpenglow does not activate before September, Bitcoin holds its current range. Break any one and the read changes. A full week of net-negative ETF flow puts $69.25 in play fast and makes $60.29 realistic. Alpenglow shipping with a date inside August makes $79 the level, and clearing it would be the first real trend change since May. We are not forecasting a monthly close — three weeks are still left to trade, and anyone quoting one now is guessing.

Why a Flat SOL Week Reads Differently for $DOLAN

A 3.3% weekly range is boring for SOL holders and useful for everything quoted in it. $DOLAN is a fair-launch Solana memecoin with a fixed 98.3M supply, roughly 10,697 holders and contract address
4YK1njyeCkBuXG6phNtidJWKCbBhB659iwGkUJx98P5Z
. The supply contrast is the point: SOL still issues new units to stakers at roughly 3.6% a year, so ETF buying has to outrun dilution before it moves price. $DOLAN has nothing left to emit, so its chart answers only to liquidity and holder behaviour. What it inherits from SOL is the cost layer — every trade settles in SOL and pays SOL fees, so a stable base asset means predictable slippage on the long tail. That split between issuance-driven and liquidity-driven assets sits at the centre of how we assess SOL as a holding.

What is the Solana price in August 2026?
As of August 6, 2026, SOL is trading between roughly $73.90 and $74.36 with a market cap near $43.2 billion. Across August 1-6 it has held a $72.14-$74.51 band. August is not finished, so no monthly figure exists yet.

What were Solana’s high and low in the first week of August 2026?
The low print was $72.14 on Monday August 3, and the upper band was $74.51 on August 5-6. That is a range of about 3.3% over six sessions, unusually tight for SOL, on volume around $3.15 billion.

Did Solana ETFs see inflows in early August 2026?
Barely. US spot Solana ETFs recorded five straight sessions of exactly zero net flow from July 29 through August 4, leaving cumulative flows at $1.122 billion. Around $1 million came in on August 5, the first positive day of the month.

Why is Solana stuck between $72 and $75?
SOL is sitting at the apex of a triangle drawn from the May high near $98 and the June low at $60.29, with both trendlines converging at $73-74. Compression at an apex plus near-zero ETF flow produces exactly this kind of range.

What is Solana’s key level for the rest of August 2026?
$79. The 0.5 Fibonacci at $79.27 and the 100-day EMA at $79.39 sit in the same zone, so a volume close above it would be the first real trend signal since May. On the downside, $69.25 is the first shelf and $60.29 the structural floor.

Is the Alpenglow upgrade activating in August 2026?
Unknown as of August 6, 2026. Alpenglow’s activation window runs August through October 2026 and 98.27% of voting stake approved it back in September 2025, but no governance proposal has been submitted and validators are still registering keys through the Validator Admission Ticket system.

How far below its all-time high is SOL in August 2026?
About 75%. SOL peaked at $294 in January 2025 and trades near $74 as of August 6, 2026. The gap reflects the collapse in memecoin-era fee revenue rather than any failure of the network itself.

The Solana price in August 2026 has held a $72.14–$74.51 band through the first six sessions, trading around $73.90–$74.36 as of August 6, 2026, with…

[4

post-183","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-solana
["GET
